Boulder, Colorado, May 2009 — Each year at Natural MarketPlace (www.naturalmarketplaceshow.com), the Natural Products Association’s annual trade show and convention, members and supporters of the natural, organic, and healthy products industry come together for an intimate gathering and business development experience.

This year, New Hope Natural Media, producer of the Natural Products Expos (East and West) will produce the show in partnership with the Natural Products Association. The event will be held July 9-11, 2009 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center and The Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas.

Highlights of this year’s program include:

• Keynote Speaker Hank Cardello, author of Stuffed: An Insider's Look at Who's (Really) Making America Fat. Cardello’s experience moving from marketer for many mainstream food companies to Director of the Global Business Obesity Forum— the premier forum bringing food industry partners together with health scientists to advance solutions to the obesity crisis — is relevant to the natural products industry as many cash-strapped consumers are turning to preventive methods and healthy lifestyles as an alternative to high-priced healthcare.

• Saturday SuperSession with Senator Tom Harkin (Democrat from Iowa) to complement the advocacy efforts of the Natural Products Association. As chairman of the Senate panel that funds medical research, health care, and education initiatives, Senator Harkin has worked to transform America into a "wellness society" focused on disease prevention, healthier lifestyles, and good nutrition.

• A new Retail Intensive, an all-day workshop bringing together experts and peers to guide retailers toward more efficient operations and a better bottom line, even in today’s tough economic times.
