In February, Wellbilt International started assisting the healing process. Wellbilt International is unique in that their products have been tested, certified and received product approvals by Miami’s Dade County government and the State of Florida for uses in Florida’s High Velocity Hurricane Zones, and in the city of Los Angeles in California for lateral force resistance required for earthquakes. Since January’s earthquake in Haiti devastated the region there have been multiple efforts to assist the Haitian government in rebuilding their infrastructure. The challenge is in efficiently evaluating the vendors and their products. Wellbilt International understood this dilemma and placed representatives in the area to prove their commitment and level of certification regarding its special wall paneling. The need to have schools, housing, and hospitals reconstructed immediately is crucial. Wellbilt's Sure-Board Wall Panel is a patented process, including galvanized steel, to create a structural, load bearing, lightweight, easy to install, exterior or interior wall panel. According to its certification statement, this product is the only earthquake and hurricane resistant wall panel to have both California and Miami-Dade approvals and certifications. Schools, hospitals, military housing, office buildings, hotels and motels have already been built throughout the U.S., utilizing Sure-Board technology, These projects required building permits and traditional building inspections, including those to meet the higher standards required for Florida’s essential buildings, such as hospitals. In the upcoming weeks, Wellbilt International, backed by an army of experienced engineers, and led by TLC Engineering for Architecture, will be working with U.S. government officials, the Haitian government, United Nations personnel and various non-profit Groups to tackle ways to expedite rebuilding of the area.
