New York, New York, October 2010 — Dana Hilmer, aka the Lifestyle Mom, has some advice for moms during this busy time of year.

Find Time for Mom

As a mom, you must find time to take care of yourself. Exercise, get enough sleep, and eat right. Be sure to always have healthy meals available. For lunch, choose an option like tuna that is high in protein and Omega-3. You can go the way of the regular can or those sandwich-ready pouches. Then you can spread on a cracker or bread and munch your way to an energy-filled day.

Keep Healthy Snacks on Hand

When it comes to your children, keep healthy snacks on hand so they can stay nourished throughout their busy day. Think fruit and whole grains, and try out the various brands that carry organic fruit snacks that taste like a treat but give them a full serving of organic fruit. Look for bars that have a whole grain organic element that provides the right balance of carbs, protein, and fiber to keep your children’s energy levels even between meals.

Cook WITH your Family

Cooking is a task commonly just for mom, but the whole family can pitch in too. You can find easy, family-friendly recipes at TheFamilyDish.Com using pantry staples that you most likely already have. Family members will enjoy preparing and eating yummy dishes like No Frying Chicken Parmesan, and you will spend more quality time together.

Make Clean-Up Easy

As the cold weather moves in, so do the germs. One way to help prevent cold and flu is to disinfect hard surfaces. Clorox Disinfecting Wipes can help kill up to 99.9% of germs including the flu virus. You can even donate them to teachers to help them keep their classrooms cleaner. Another way to help schools this year is to check out Clorox’s Power a Bright Future Grant Contest. The initiative will give away three $20,000 grants and one $50,000 grant to fund critical school programs. Visit Clorox.com to learn more.
