Hood River, Oregon, December 2011— A good percentage of everybody running around out there are vegetarians, and it used to be that when the end-of-the-year Holidays came around, it was a lonely time for this bunch.

Back in the day, depending on where you’d look, you’ll find this group to be somewhat ostracized, removed from the celebration, left to consume only the side dishes.

But then, in 1995, with the introduction of the Tofurky Roast, Holiday feasting began looking up for vegetarians.

Over the years it has been the great pleasure of the folks at Turtle Island Foods, (the company that makes this unique product) to watch Tofurky® become an integral part of the worldwide vegetarian culture. By providing a delicious and convenient alternative to turkey, Tofurky has brought peace to thousands of tables. Now everyone can look forward to something special to eat during celebrations that were formally only the province of carnivores. With its savory flavor and meat-like texture, Tofurky now sits front and center when a vegetarian alternative is called for.

Many of you have by now heard all about Tofurky, and if you looked deep enough, you found the product to be not only innovative, but nutritious, delicious, convenient, and affordable — as well as vegetarian.

During your investigation you might have also learned more about the company. Located just a hop east of Portland (the one in the Northwest), Turtle Island Foods has been in business for over 30 years, quietly growing with the steady rise and acceptance of their vegetarian, mostly soy-based products.

After all this time, all Turtle Island products are still made with in small batches using only the best organic and natural ingredients — and no preservatives, MSG or other artificial ingredients are added, either. All Turtle Island products are kosher, vegan and made with organic soybeans and/or organic tofu.
